His presentation is titled “Airspace Management – Threats and Opportunities for HAPS business model.” \nThe objectives of the workshop are: \n\nto assess the State-of-the-Art of HAPS and to learn about recent developments\,\nto identify future perspectives of HAPS in Europe\,\nto elaborate on synergies between HAPS and satellites in the domains of Earth Observation\, Telecommunication and Navigation\,\nto learn about new and improved science\, services and applications enables by combined HAPS and Space        Assets and\nto collect recommendations for future ESA programs and activities.

DESCRIPTION:On February 29\, 2024\, from 12:30 – 13:30 CET\, the HAPS Alliance will be in Barcelona at MWC 2024 to present on “Unlocking the Economic Potential of the Stratosphere with HAPS\,” in Theatre 6\, Hall 8. \n \nDuring this showcase\, GSMA and HAPS Alliance members from AALTO HAPS\, Aerostar\, Nokia and Stratospheric Platforms will share the Alliance’s work to open up new service capabilities that mobile network operators (MNOs) can use to fill a capability gap between terrestrial networks and satellites at 18 to 50 km above the Earth. \nModerator:\nTim Hatt\, Head of Research and Consulting\, GSMA Intelligence \nPanelists:\nKen Riordan\, President of the HAPS Alliance and Principal Architect\, Nokia Federal Solutions\nGregory Ewert\, HAPS Alliance member and Chief Commercial Officer & Managing Director North America\, Stratospheric Platforms\, Ltd\nJeff Smith\, Board Officer of the HAPS Alliance and Head of Mobile Connectivity\, EU and APAC\, AALTO HAPS\nRuss Van Der Werff\, Board Officer and Treasurer of the HAPS Alliance and Vice President of Stratospheric Solutions\, Aerostar \nPre-registration is encouraged.
